Shallow Gallery: Heavy Things

Shallowgallery

11 Apr 2026 - 24 May 2026

24/7

Field Walk entrance (Door 13)

A collaborative exhibition by Campbell Mcconnell and Ross Hammond.

Heavy Things examines how memory, labour, and cultural rituals shape constructions of identity and belonging. Working across installation, moving image, and sculpture, the artists draw on overlooked histories and anecdotal fragments that reveal broader social and political conditions.

The exhibition is situated within a shopfront window, where an accumulation of objects—boxed belongings, fragments of domestic interiors, decorative plates, curtains, and dismantled walls—suggests a site of transition. These elements appear temporarily held: stored, displaced, or awaiting movement. The space evokes both containment and circulation, positioning the domestic as something unstable and continually reconfigured.

Presented by Arts Central Studios and curated by Rookie Services, Shallow Gallery is a public art platform celebrating contemporary artists and Milton Keynes’ creative community.

Discover the gallery to the left of the Field Walk entrance (Door 13), next to Next. The exhibition is open to the public 24/7.
