If you were looking forward to your summer holiday, sipping a cocktail laying under a shady palm tree and then, agh! This happened! Now your best made plans have had to be hastily cancelled or re-arranged as it looks like we will be staying at home, at least for a while probably. Never fear, there is a fashion trend powering its way through the high street this season that will bring the tropics to you. Tropical prints are back everywhere and have never looked better. Here is our take on how to wear the trend so you look as cool as a Pina colada and not like Del boy’s wallpaper!
Shaken not Stirred
Shake it up a bit with a mixture of prints. Don’t be scared to clash but the secret is to make sure the base colour of your tropical print is a good contrast to the other print you are wearing. This will help to give the overall look some colour tone and contrast. Avoid base colours that are similar, or you risk looking too busy. Also, pop a plain accessory in, such as a bag that picks out one or two of the print colours, some white tennis shoes and to finish it off, some sunglasses.

Walk on the Wild Side
Bring out your inner warrior by mixing tropical with animal print and tribal jewellery. Again, the key is to mix the patterns but to make sure the patterns complement each other, so adding animal print is the perfect way to do this. Transform the whole outfit with bold make-up that really follows the tribal theme. Colours such as orange work fabulously on dark or tanned skin, so pick the shade that contrasts the best for you.

Elegant Prints
If you love the trend, but want a look that is more about elegance, then there are plenty of choices in a single colour tropical print. This gorgeous dress takes tropical to a new level of sophistication. Paired with a kitten snakeskin heel or sandal, pay particular attention to your statement jewellery. By adding a printed headband, you can dial up the tropical just a notch if you want to. After that, just find a garden chair, place a cocktail in your hand and dream of your next holiday.
