A Taste of Summer As we re-visit our summer wardrobe, the prospect of revealing more of our bodies can be daunting. Whether staycation or a trip further afield, the idea of donning swimwear also looms, so we look for ways of trimming the waistline and eating lighter and healthier. At centre:mk, our range of eateries are nearly all now back open and whilst not all are currently offering an eat-in experience just yet, you can happily take away a taste of summer and sample their lighter summer menus on the go. Pizza Hut are now open for a sit down meal and you can sample their Virtuous Veg Flatbread whilst taking the weight off your feet. The café in M&S is also now open for a full range of drinks and snacks to dine in or take away or grab a table at Pret and tuck in to the Hummus and Falafel Box, if you are at the other end of the centre. There are lots of take away options available too. Our favourite is the Full Sharing Platter from Nandos which you could even enjoy as a socially distanced picnic if you eat it “al fresco” with a couple of friends. Refreshing Beverages There are some great new soft drinks around the centre to tantalise your tastebuds. Don’t miss the stunning passionfruit tea from Chatime. It’s a limited edition and you can personalise yours with lots of yummy extras such as pearls or added fruit pieces. Starbucks are also worth a visit to sample the new Blackberry Mojito Iced Green Tea. Although there’s no alcohol in sight, close your eyes and you could easily be convinced you were in a sunset cocktail bar. Delicious. Sweet Treats If you have a sweet tooth, why not spoil yourself with the Summer Desserts Box? It’s an indulgent chocolate selection from Hotel Chocolat that will make your mouth water, with dessert flavours reminiscent of a summer garden party. If you don’t want to share, then the Krispy Kreme lemon meringue doughnut is the choice for you. It’s light and very more-ish and with a swirl of meringue on top captures the flavour of a lemon meringue pie perfectly! National Ice Cream Day Sunday 19th July What a better way to celebrate National Ice Cream Day than with a visit to Giovanni’s Gelato? For a true, authentic taste of Italy, Giovanni’s has so many flavours to choose from, one visit simply won’t be enough. Will you have a wafer? Nuts? Extra sprinkles? Ahh…decisions, decisions. Bellissimo!
