The Optical Assistant is a supportive role assisting the Optometrist and/or Dispensing Optician. You'll provide information to customers, working alongside the Optometrist, to help them select the best products and services to ensure customers see, look and feel better than they ever thought possible.
You'll play your part within the team, working together, helping and supporting colleagues to provide the highest levels of customer and patient care to create a successful and profitable business.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.
Achieve high levels of sales performance and results.
Know the products inside and out and stay fresh with new merchandise and trends.
Attention to detail; review prescriptions and identify specific needs, consulting with an Optician when necessary.
Assist the customer in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their lifestyle and prescription needs and taking accurate measurements to dispense glasses or contact lenses.
Deal with all aspects of basic visual requirements
You may be requested to perform any other duties deemed reasonable by your line manager.
Knowledge & Skills
Education & Experience
GCSE's or equivalent experience
Previous experience in retail, customer service or optical preferred.
