After the luxury of having time off for holidays, not setting the alarm and giving my face a break from makeup, it's time to get back into my daily routine. There is generally little time to get ready in the morning. Whether you are off to work or on the school run, fixing your face can often fall to the bottom of the priority list but now with so many fabulous quick fix makeup products available, you can create an instant face using just a few key products.
I'm a big fan of mineral foundations; they are great for all skin types especially those with sensitive skin. Bare Minerals Original Foundation (£27, Boots) is a powder formulation and can be applied super speedily with a brush and buffed into the skin, it also has the added bonus of a spf15. Clinique CC (£29, John Lewis) is a great product to even out your complexion and can be applied over a serum in replace of a moisturiser; it has an spf of 30 so is great for holiday use as well. My top tip for disguising a morning face is a cream blush, apply to the apples of your cheeks using a beauty blender and you'll instantly help revive a tired face. Coral colours work really well, Bobbi Brown Calypso (£21, House of Fraser) is a great universal shade that suits most skin tones, its fresh coral tone really brings life to your face. To open up your eyes and appear wide awake, I always like to curl my lashes. I'm a huge fan of Shiseido Eyelash Curlers (£20, House of Fraser), they really work, especially when you don't have time to apply liner or shadow to your eyes. Mascara on the top and bottom lashes will give you a more doll like eye, creating the illusion of a wide awake face. Benefit They're Real Mascara (£10.50, House of Fraser) lasts all day and gives lots of definition to your lashes. A quick slick of tinted lip balm will help moisturise your lips and inject that all-important colour and freshness to your face, Benefit Cha Cha Balm is fantastic! (£15.50, Boots).
Just by using a few key products, you can have those extra few minutes in bed and still leave the house looking like you've had a good 8 hours!
